In 2012, Celia Hoogenhout married, German-born, Simon Obholzer and together they have intensively farmed the Old Vine single vineyard blocks of Syrah and Merlot on Woestkloof Estate. They strive to create fresh and elegant wines that best celebrate the Boland winelands and believe in farming only the grape varietals best suited to the area. “We give our vineyards a lot of love and truly believe that it shows in our wines.”

LOUIS NEL – WINEMAKER

The SIMELIA Wine production is in the skilled and professional hands of winemaker Louis Nel. Louis studied winemaking at the University of Stellenbosch, and graduated in 1992. He managed harvests on wine farms overseas in France and America, and also worked at Vergelegen, Neil Ellis, Warwick and Hidden Valley before he started his own wine label. In 2006 Louis became a member of the Cape Winemakers Guild.
